Utilizing state-of-the-art construction and components to give you the upper hand, the Shimano Terez BW Deep Drop Rods are the best possible choice for those whose target depth has no limits. Built on Shimano's most advanced blanks to date, the Terez BW rods benefit from three proprietary Shimano blank technologies — Hi-Power X, Spiral X, and UD Glass construction. Spiral X construction consists of multiple layers of carbon tape that tightly wind the blank diagonally in opposite directions, resulting in enhanced torsional rigidity without adding extra weight. UD Glass greatly enhances rod strength while retaining the ability to flex. This combination of rod technologies increases the structural rigidity of the rods so that they remain true under load while enabling anglers to efficiently transfer power through the blank for much needed fighting power in heavy offshore applications. The Terez BW Deep Drop Rods are equipped with durable Fuji SiC Guides and an AFTCO Swivel Tip to minimize awkward angles and help improve boat-side landings. These deep drop rods are perfect for pairing with standard conventional reels or dendoh electric power assist reels for targeting species like tilefish, snapper, and grouper, but are not recommended for targeting swordfish. These rods are sold as blade-only, allowing anglers to pair them with whatever straight, bent, or adjustable uni-butt best suits their application.
