Floats

Floats are used to keep baits off the bottom and to assist with detecting a bite. The float should be just large enough to do the job; if the float is too large, the fish will feel it and may not become hooked. Bobbers, also known as floats, serve as indicators when a fish has taken the Fishing Bait.
